Stingray Pre-Delivery Inspection Process

As we’ve had several Stingrays arrive at our dealership in the past week, we wanted to show some photos of our pre-delivery inspection process and share what happens when a Stingray arrives.

During the pre-delivery inspection (PDI), we remove the car covers and take the vehicle out of transport mode. We then check the air pressure, the fluids and test the car’s battery. One of the most important things we do for the Stingray is install the front brake cooling deflectors. These are attached to the lower control arm and deflect air towards the brakes.

In the PDI process, we also install any additional items the customer has ordered such as different floor mats, trunk mats or cargo shades. In addition, we take the build sheet and the window sticker that comes with the car and create a laminated copy for the customer.

Once the PDI is complete, we take the Stingray straight to get detailed before the customer takes delivery.

3 Things You May Not Have Known About the Corvette C7 Design

The cutting-edge new Corvette C7 design has many enthusiasts elated, but many of the new Corvette design changes are not simply for show.

In a quote from GM’s Kirk Bennion, Exterior Design Manager for Corvette to Slash Gear, Bennon said, “You want a compelling design, you want a strong aesthetic. We try to do things where, okay, this gives us a new look that we like, we think it’s attractive, but if we can also benefit with some functionality then it’s a double win. We like to do that with Corvette especially.”

Every feature implemented into the C7 design changes is backed by an equally impressive function. Here are a few to get you started.

Build Your Own Corvette

You can build your own Corvette now with the new configurators recently added to Chevrolet.com.  The configurator allows you to select your trim level, color, wheels and options before providing a final price. In addition, you can estimate your monthly payment using the Payment Calculator.

Start building your Stingray Coupe here or your Stingray Convertible here.

The Corvette configurator also helps you make the tough decision of choosing the trim level for your new Stingray.  The side-by-side trim comparison tool allows you to select three different trim levels to compare the various features of each trim.

With one of the largest Corvette allocations in the country, Rick Hendrick Chevrolet can help you get the Stingray you’ve always wanted. Use this handy tool to select your options to build your own Corvette and choose the options you want before you get to the dealership. We are pricing all of our Corvettes at MSRP so you can use the configurator to price your dream car as well.

“A legit Porsche killer from Detroit”

CNN Money posted a review of the new C7 Corvette last week in which writer Peter Valdes-Dapena had this to say about the new “Vette:”

But it just hasn’t gotten the respect. It’s been seen as a much lesser alternative to a Porsche for those who just don’t have the money to pony up for those Porsche prices. Probably that’s because the Corvette costs so much less money, looks so much bigger and it carries its engine out front, like any regular car, not in back. Also, let’s face it, it’s a Chevy.

Now, with the 2014 Corvette Stingray, that disrespect just needs to stop. I had the chance to drive the new ‘Vette on roads and highways not far from San Francisco and, while today’s Corvette is not bad, this one’s better. It feels even quicker, more nimble, more intuitive and it’s lots more fun.

Visit the link for more photos and video from CNN Money’s C7 Corvette review.

The Detroit Free Press’ Mark Phelan writes here about the history of the Corvette from a car with “more ‘show’ than ‘go'” to a true performance vehicle.

Check out this story from Car and Driver’s blog with the history of the Corvette as a race car with some great photos of past racing Vettes.

As part of the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Chevrolet brought examples of all seven generations of the Corvette in running condition.

Vintage Corvette owners gathered in Laguna Seca this weekend at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion as Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 Corvette. Corvette owners lined their cars along paths through the “Corvette Corral” and paraded around the track.
